Therapy in Nature

Being in nature supports our physical and psychological well-being. It can restore us, calm us, inspire us and help us gain perspective. We can breathe deeply and let go of our stress. Nature provides space to expand our awareness; it holds our pain without judgement and offers us the nourishment and acceptance that we shyly desire.

Working together, outdoors, in nature is a powerful way of connecting with our real selves. I will encourage you to connect with nature in a way that will help you to gain insight on and work through your problems.  Frequently we experience ourselves deeply as we shed our urban skins and notice connection with the plants, animals and insects, feeling the sun on our skin or the wind at our backs. Outdoor Therapy can take place in the woods, the park, by the sea or somewhere else that you feel comfortable and safe. Currently I work in Tymon Park, Phoenix Park and the War Memorial Gardens but we can work together to find settings that resonate for you.

We can walk and talk or we can find a quiet place to sit. During our session you will have the opportunity to talk confidentially about the things that are bothering you and causing problems in your life. I will listen always without judgement and help you to make sense of how you are feeling. Together we will work in nature to help you find relief from the stress, anxiety, depression, sadness or grief that can make life really difficult. I am highly trained and qualified in a number of therapeutic approaches, we can work together to find the approach that supports you best. We can also work towards understanding how you want your life to be and with nature I will help you to move towards creating that life.

Preliminary Phone Conversation
I like to have a no charge preliminary phone call before we start working together. During this call I will explain how I work, I will ask you a bit about what's going on for you and also what you would like to get from therapy. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions that you have and talk through any concerns. This call will give us the opportunity to decide if we are a good fit, to see if our schedules align and to see if indoors, outdoors or online suits you best. If we decide to work outdoors we will talk about where we would like to go and how it might work best for you.
